Meet Natalie

Natalie Mitchell is a book-loving, outgoing, teacher of adult learners. After teaching in the classroom, she found her way into the world of adult learning through literacy coaching and fell in love. Of course, teaching children is a special gift but she realized teaching a room of adults was her favorite place to be. As she developed her practice as a staff developer for Teachers College, Columbia University, she found that holding the attention of a room of adult learners while simultaneously providing content that will both better ones practice and help to grow reflective learners is what she finds as being her special niche.

Mission

As the founder of Nat With Her Books, Natalie brings over a decade of literacy experience and knowledge to classrooms all over the country. Her ultimate goal is to provide exceptional professional development with an emphasis on literacy instruction, transformational one-on-one and group coaching, as well as strategic curriculum design and planning. She values life long learning and aims to grow teacher efficacy through workshops, lab sites, and efficient curriculum planning. And of course, transforming the way children experience literacy from the educators who guide the way.
